Group of 4 large Orinocodoras Eigenmanni

Hi all, I've decided i would like to move my group of Orinocodoras eigenmanni on as I have new plans for the tank they are in. The three largest are around 6-7 inches TL, the other around 4 inches TL. They are beautiful, chunky examples of this species which are very rarely seen for sale, especially...

Tank size for a L 333 group.

Hi, I'm thinking of getting my first group of hypancistrus and wondered whether my 120x40x40cm would house a breeding group of 9 adults if I filled it with loads of bogwood etc? If anyone would like to share their experience with these it would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Matt Sent from my HTC Wi...

Re: Using rainwater

For the past year, I have been regularly collecting rainwater for my aquariums that have relatively low pH & soft water. I live in northern NJ--a half hour drive from NYC and Port Newark/Elizabeth... lots of pollution around here. The fish seem to love it right after water changes, swimming aro...

Using rainwater

Hi all, with the British weather continually providing the resource of rainwater on a consistant basis!! I just wondered if many use it and whether you consider the cons, including the potential for nasties lurking in it,to outweigh the pros, with it's long term use? I live in Warrington, Cheshire s...

Re: Peckoltia sp red tiger query

Thanks for that, I will maintain them at 28 C which is the current tank temperature. Wow they are very messy regarding the amount of poo they produce! Can't even imagine how much the larger plecs produce!!

Peckoltia sp red tiger query

Hi all, I recently purchased some gorgeous peckoltia sp red tiger from the fantastic rare aquatics. They keep their fishes at 29 degrees C but my tank is at 25 degrees C. I increased the temp to 27 degrees C in my tank before introducing the fish as I didn't want to shock them too much. They seem fi...

New tank stocking dilemma

Hi all, I'm absolutely stumped as to what to do with my new 240l set up. I've bought a pair of peckoltia sp red tiger for it but other than them I can only think of a big a group of cardinals that would add some day time colour without disturbing my cats. Does anyone have a bit of inspiration for me...

Hi there, I recently acquired 3 very healthy and surprisingly active corydoras melini from the CSG auction ( a very good day out btw). Just wondered if anyone has any adult ( preferred) fish for sale so I can add to my group?

Hi there, I recently lost my white worm culture inexplicably and wondered if anyone fairly local to Warrington, Cheshire has a spare culture I could buy off them. Apart from microworms this was the only live food I had.

Love these fish!, is your tank long rather than deep? In a long tank your gulper has more options to decide it's preferred distance from the powerhead, and you will be able to work out whether it is enjoying the extra flow created or not. Look forward to the vid! Cheers Matt Sent from my HTC...

Re: hoplo catfish - help me choose please, please. :-)

Hi, I'd go for the thoracata which in my experience are lively, if a little boisterous. They have tons of personality, and in my tank were not interested in making a meal of even the smallest tank mates. At meal times they're like fish- vacuums, especially for bloodworm!! Highly recommended!! :-BD :...
