My LFS has some cories that I have identified as C. leucomelas but they have them labeled as C. wotia or something like that and I have never heard of them and cant find them on Ian's site of on the Cat-elog under this name. another thing to consider too is that plecs also do this. my clown and red and black both do this action as well as many others i have had in the past. I dont know what this is for other than instinct or social behavior its kinda like that whole tree falling in the woods thing i guess?!? :?

ok i see where your coming from but wouldnt you think the sand would scratch the fishes eyes ? I have cories that are not in sand that do this , are you saying you think they do instinctively ? I m not sayng your wrong and I m just asking your opinion on this. I dont actually know why they do it but...

the body spotting looks exactly like the C. kanei but it has a little more pronouced spotting with a stripe at the base of the caudal fin made up from spotting not a solid stripe more like a denser amount of spots making it look like a solid line :? but i m leaning towards C.kanei

trust me if you have long fin paleatus you will know it.. mine have dorsal fins that are the length of their bodies and they are juv. the dorsal and bodies are about 1/2"-3/4" it is very obvious that it is a high or long fin variety.

I just bought some A. pouciradiatus and i believe i recieved a cory in the batch that looks like the top pic but has a black mask and black splotch on the dorsal as well i m still looking through the cat-eLog to find something like but there are few that look simular :?
