Paying for publications

As a publisher of ichthyological articles I can only say that every author still can publish for free if he or she wants. 30 reprints are offered for free. More can be bought - a usual practice. Additionally, a PDF can be bought (not for general publication on a web site) with 300 dpi and a 75 dpi o...

Has anybody a PDF file of the Schaefer Otocinclus revision

New subfamily - goodbye Ancistrinae

I think Armbruster has good arguments for his point of view. He wants to express phylogenetic relationships by generic names and therefore does not accept Weber's and Isbrücker et al.'s new genera. Despite these changes it should be mentioned that Armbruster joined Ancistrinae and Hypostominae withi...

Rhamdia?

I just received a copy of the redescription. Zarske states: But the placement (into Rhamdia, add.) is temporary because of the obsolete state of generic taxonomy in the Pimelodidae.

More info on Platydoras cleaning

The Platydoras were 7 cm, the Hoplias 30 cm. It was a daytime observation, although no time is given. Astonishing (also for the authors) as P. costatus is strictly and Hoplias partially nocturnal.
