Re: Lima is very shy

I agree with the other posters. I had a group of 7 lima's (20-25 cm) which weren't shy at all. They really seemed to like the company and where rarely on their own in the tank. In the tank where some pleco's and a group of Geophagus. I strongly suggest keeping them in a group of at least 5 specimens...

Re: What's wrong with my Pseudacanthicus leopardus (L600)

Ok tnx!

I have another L600, but I'm not sure about the sex. I think it's a boy...

This one is a lot smaller than the female. I think he/she still has to grow a bit before he/she is ready for breeding.

Re: What's wrong with my Pseudacanthicus leopardus (L600)

Tnx voor your reaction.

Isn't Esha a bit dangerous for catfish?

I'm thinking about using Sera bactopur.

BTW I already thought it was a female. Are you sure about the sex?

What's wrong with my Pseudacanthicus leopardus (L600)

Quite some time ago my L600 had a stronge spot on the head at the right eye. I thought it was caused by a bump against the wood or something like that. At first the spot seemed to disappear, but now is seems to get worse and worse. It seems to be a fungus or a bacterial infection of some kind??? Ple...

7 * Sorubim lima (The Netherlands)

For sale:

A group of 7 Sorubim lima. They're approximately 20 cm.

Price: €15,- each.

I would like to sell them as a group considering they're doing much better as a group than as individuals.

Re: Breeding Leporacanthicus sp. cf galaxias L-240

Great news Haavard. Keep the updates coming! Until recently I owned 5 young specimens myself. It's a beatiful species. They still had a long way to go before reaching adulthood, but I had every intention to get them to breed eventually. Unfortunately I have moved to another house and I'm sort of for...

Hope you guys can help me out. I'm thinking about getting a small one for my 230*65*60 cm tank. Does anybody know anything...

I sincerely hope that you'll manage to keep the rest of them alive.

You must be creating hundreds of hiding places for the catfish by decorating the tank this way. Great stuff!

I'm looking forward to every update, considering you're one of the true artists when it comes to decorating a tank. Btw. hope to see more of your Pseudacanthicus too. I'm a true Pseuda-fan and I'm inspired by the recent breeding successes on PC. I can get two L065 which are labelled femal...

Re: Auchenipterichthys coracoideus behavior

Mine seem to be very fond of Echinodorus. They like to hide in the leaves. I takes quite a while for them to gain enough confidence to get out of hiding during the day. I hardly saw them in the first months, but nowadays they come out for food now and then during the day. I bought mine from Marc btw.

Please sex my L134

Hi, I'm trying to sex my 4 L134's (Peckoltia sp.). They're approximately 8/9 cm. On basis of body shape my guess is one female en three males. WOW! This is absolutely stunning! tup Love love love your fish! L025's are one of the most striking catfish IMHO. It's very good news that you're able to breed them in captivity. It's a dream for me and it will probably stay that way  Love the Retroculus too btw. Stunning fish! I sincerely hop...

Re: Pseudohemiodon Spawning

I would say they like current but not strong current. Mine are in a medium current and breeding well. However I think it is the DO the current provides rather than the current itself that is important. The flatness says more about their love of hiding in sand than it does about the current they liv...

I think common believe says they do. People often refer to the flattened body in that discussion. But if I understand racoll cor...

Re: 720 liter pl*co, discus and tetra tank

I simply changed the whole theme of the tank. Currently the tank is used for my 10 Leporacanthicus sp. L240 and one juvenile L25. The L240s are growing at a rate I have never seen in a pl*co species before, and they will all be mature quite soon I think. i will love to see pics of them!!!! :mrgreen...
