Is Akysis also posssible in a unheated tank ?

I am looking foor a small catfish for a Unheated tank.
I Know hara jerdoni is possible, but I've read they don't adapt to dry foods.
Coorydoras palaetus is also possible, but are there more specie's with a max size of 7cm that are suitable for unheated tanks ?

Availability, I don't know for the states but in The Netherlands they are available regularly.

Does the soloni realy need strong water current ?

Gents I mean sicydium crenilabrum, they're not bigger then 10cm.

Sicydium sp. are small fishes from the Gobiidae family from West Africa.
These fishes also live in waters with strong current, so will combine perfect with soloni, if robertsi won't arrive.

Bas, fishes that swim above, salmon like fishes for instance, will feel them also more secure.
Also thegroup size of these Synodontis has influence.

Ik agree with others that agressive cichlids will send them back to there hiding places and will only come out when the lights are out.

Will 4 or 5 specimens fit in this (without any other catfish and other bottom lived fish offcourse) ?

I've some questions about the Synodontis soloni.

Are they a territorial Synodontis specie ?
Do they need some food froom a "Green matter" like spirulina a/o green algae ?

I think I have confused Microsynodontis batesii with Synodontis batesii.
Synodontis batesii is living with Synodontis nigriventis not Microsynodontis batesii.

I have the idea to start a West Afrika tank.

I like to combine Microsynodontis batesii with Synodontis nigriventis because they're living together in th wild.
Is this advisable ?

The Microsynodontis batesii are very small, 2/3 cm and the nigriventis 4/5cm.

In the Lake is a pH of 8 to 9 and a hardness (KH)of 14 to 16 quit normal.
I've kept my two groups at ph=8.5 and KH=14 in good health.

I've seen them many time at my LFS.
When they adjusted the tank to more current, they where getting less hectic indeed.

I think the combination of Centromochlus heckeli with Pseudohemiodons is great.
What about the current the heckeli's need, is that current sufficiant for Pseudohemodon ?

I've meant slow eating compare to Centromochlus.

Offcourse I can't compare heckeli to Tatia intermedia, to me Tatia are voracious with food, and I've heard and I'm not sure, heckeli are voracious also.
