Furniture i started this 20 high to be a single species tank, ctenops nobilis "noble gourami". i bought four of them shortly after they arrived at the company i work for. soon after the fish "settled into they're new home the dominate male started to kill off his friends. then to my dismay he decided he too would "jump" ship on me and ended his own life. just before this happened we got a shipment of more wild west africans. with them was this Amphilius platychir. i took him home for 5 bucks. these fish are so awesome. he's taking a home to one of the small caves i put in the tank. also he's made friends with the 3 Botia kubotai "burmese border botia" that i brought home. the tank also includes 4 Chromabotia macracantha "clown botia", 10 Barbus rhomboocellatus "rhombo barbs", 2 Badis ruber " burmese red badis", and 2 Sphaerichthys acrostoma "sharpnose gourmai". just a standard light on the tank powered by a tetratec filter from the first tank i bought about 6 years ago (the damn thing just wont stop working!). a pile of java moss and a peice of root wood covered in java fern (thanks emperorted) and couple of sunset hygro with a crinium natans is all the plant life for now. eventually this tank will just be moss. big plans in the near future. thanks for reading!

Furniture i have a love for african cichlids. i work along side one the best in the industry. his love for theses fishes has taught me so much. unable to acquire Synodontis njassae until recently, i bought on of these beautiful syno's as a small fish. we got in another group sometime after i started there. sadly, one of these fishes came in with no pectorals. the boss allowed me to take him home and i've loved him sense. i now only have "stumpy". he is so cool with his tall dorsal and fat little body scooting through the tank. he's grown quite a bit since i bought him, and i know i'll enjoy his company for a long time. the 50 gallon tank is filtered out by 2 hydro sponge size 5. its very effective and most of tanks have them. i highly recommend them.
