Re: My Fish Room
I moved the three Akysis prashadi to the pea puffer 29g so that the c. eques tank will be S. American. The 2 parrot doradids are in with the eques. I still need to catch the kooli loach.
Careful hand catching catfish. One of the a. Prashadi stung me and my finger throbbed for a bit.

Re: Fungal treatment
I think I am finally seeing some improvement. I have been dabbing meth blue directly onto the fuzz. I think it's getting smaller.

The second Hoplo to enter the view is malformed. The head is more arrow shaped and sunken across the top.

Re: T. Intermedia woodcats
During feeding I noticed one of the male T. Intermedia had tuned solid brown hiding the patterning on his sides. I caught all 3 to see if he would stay solid or revert. Also gave me a chance to sex them, 2m/1f.

Fungal treatment
I have a Hoplosternum littorale that I began treating for white fuzz fungus 10APR22. Rescued from an overstocked tank. I have used meth blue at full strength dose and as a dip. I have used Seachem paraguard(5 day course), polyguard and kanaplex and Fritz Maracyn Oxy (Two 5 day courses). Current cour...

Confirmed I have 3 males and a female. I caught all four and by comparing the known male to the other 3 males that sexed. Wouldn't cooperate with the camera guy though.

Re: Tatia gyrina?
Hey, The first photo looks like a male to me, the second is in the wrong position to sex, but, the rest all a bit harder, they appear to just be old enough the rest in the photos look male but this is not for sure. Personally I have 4 females and 2 male gyrina. These are fun, they don't know when t...

Prepping for the addition of a linear air pump. Loops around the perimeter of the room. I just need to drill and add valves and an air pump. Just finished as the lights started turning off.

Re: Catfish for higher pH?
You might try hoplo or porthole cats, I have both. I also have Cory similis, aeneus, and F1 eques from a local breeder. Our tap pH is around 8. The fellow I got my eques from doesn't use RO/DI either. Tatia sp, banjo cats, bumblebee, Akysis sp. are in my collection too.

Honestly that is quite surprising, all of the woodcats that I have kept, T. strigata, T. reticulata, D. perugie, D. altae T. gyrina T. simplex A. batrachus and even T. intermedia etc. have all been female heavy. Especially intermedia which out of all six of mine there is only 1 male which was very ...

Re: My Fish Room
Nice! Are they seeming to prefer any sort of hides more than others? I see in the pictures it looks like a few might prefer to hide under the bamboo tubes, or maybe they were just the last to the party and so don't have a tube to claim? I have bamboo and diy fired clay pleco caves and they use both...
