| Segregation | Eggs were removed from the spawning tank to avoid them being eaten by the adults. They were placed in a dip and pour specimen container hung on the inside of the tank with water from the same tank and a few alder cones. Small water changes were made daily. Alder cones were removed as hatching was completed to keep the fry from becoming lodged in the small cones. |
