Down Basics
Overview The first spawn was on Thursday 3rd of November 2022. The breeding group consisted of 3 males and 6 females. The smallest male was at least 90mm SL and the smallest female was at least 80mm SL. The youngest adult was approximately 18 months old. The individuals were obtained from Midtun zoo.

Other Water Params 700 L/H in a 120L tank. 50% waterchange each week. Co habitating them with 10 rummynose tetras, 5 nemadoras elongatus, 1 L27 and 5 corydoras sterbai.
Down Aquarium
Dimensions The aquarium dimensions were 810mm x 360mm x 500mm (31.9" x 14.2" x 19.7") all Length x Width x Height.
Furniture Juwel rio 125. Horisontal rocks with caves in between and logs with anubias, sandy bottom.
Filtration Juwel internal filter 500 l/h and aquael internal filter 250 l/h.
Lighting Standard tube lighting from the Juwel Rio 125. Lights on from 15:00 to 24:00.
Heating Eheim 200 watt heater.
Down Breeding
Behaviour Normal ancistrus spawning behaviour. Added leaves and some liters with cold water.
Eggs There were 55 yellow eggs laid which were 5.0mm in diameter.
